Product Designer · Open to roles across the US

I design AI products that people can understand, check, and steer.

4 years across AI, EdTech, SaaS, and fintech. A computer science grad who designs in Figma and builds in React.

ReQuesta

Testing an AI workflow before the AI was ready.

AI agentsEdTechHuman-in-the-loop
The problem
Faculty only trust AI-written exam questions they can follow and steer. The AI wasn't ready yet.
The decision
Test the workflow first: a clickable prototype in 3 days, tested with 16 faculty in 5 sessions.
50 → 6 → 6findings → themes → redesigned flows

LIVE

Faculty make short teaching videos; students can create learning explainers—by talking to an AI.

AI agentsEdTechConversational UX
The problem
Asking an AI for a video gave vague, off-brand results.
The decision
I wrote the instructions and skills for an 8-step video conversation, with captions and accessible style built in.

How I work

Many hats. One accountable designer.

One dot, six modes I move through, from evidence to a shipped, checked product. These are not six AI employees. AI helps in every mode; I make the call in every mode.

01 / 06

Research

Find the real problem

Interviews, evidence, constraints, and the awkward question everyone was avoiding.

AI can help
Cluster notes and spot patterns across interviews
I decide
Which questions matter, and what the evidence really says
“Asks one more question. It is rarely one more.”
02 / 06

Strategy

Choose what matters

I connect user needs, technical limits, and business goals before picking a direction.

AI can help
Lay out options and compare trade-offs
I decide
The call, and the trade-off I can defend
“Turns the sticky-note weather system into a decision.”
03 / 06

Prototype

Make it testable

Flows and interfaces become tangible early enough for people to disagree usefully.

AI can help
Spin up variations and working prototypes fast
I decide
What gets tested, and with whom
“Clicks before anyone gets emotionally attached.”
04 / 06

Build

Make it real

My computer science background lets me work in the product—not only around it.

AI can help
Draft components and debug with me
I decide
What ships, and how it holds up
“Can open the repo. Dangerous, but useful.”
05 / 06

Test

Check the happy path

Usability, accessibility, edge cases, and post-launch behavior get examined together.

AI can help
Run audits for contrast, keyboard, and edge cases
I decide
What counts as done
“Politely distrusts the happy path.”
06 / 06

Story

Make the decision legible

I explain what changed, why it changed, and what the evidence can honestly support.

AI can help
Tighten drafts and summaries
I decide
What we claim, and only what's true
“Explains the plot without adding a 73rd slide.”

How to read this Select a mode to see what I contribute. Colour supports the labels; it never carries the meaning alone.

About

From the first interview to the fixes after launch.

Hey, I'm Gaurav. I design AI tools for teachers and students at ASU's Learning Engineering Institute. My favorite problem is making AI feel understandable: showing people what it did, and letting them check it, fix it, and steer it.

My bachelor's is in computer science, so I don't just hand off designs: I build them in React and TypeScript, and I use Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex every day. Fluent in Figma and TypeScript, conversational in Bootstrap. Outside work I travel and hunt for good ice cream. My ranking is available on request.
